a friend of mine got me pre-alpha access, which is pretty sweet very nice to see the game in a playable state
I haven't played a lot yet, but I do have some comments:
- I have reported this somewhere else on this forum as well, everything in this game screams for native controller support, really should be in there
personally I'm playing it with a steam controller atm and it wasn't very hard to configure, I suppose making the controller option available can't be a big thing to implement and will be a huge QOL feature - the sound during conversations with NPC's is very annoying, I suggest removing it also, conversations could scroll a tiny bit faster - the option menu isn't available yet, and I think this has to do with the pre-alpha state already I would like to make some suggestions for it though as it stands now there is no way to do anything else than quit your current game during a session, I don't know if this is intentional but I think the options should be available anywhere in the game once they get patched in for example, as lovely as the music is, being able to turn it off would be a very welcome feature - once the farm becomes available, cleaning up the rubble is a very tedious job that hardly serves a purpose, I suggest changing that to something quicker and more efficient
- what I have seen from the storyline so far seems a bit weak:
* someone pushes you off a cliff and you lose your memory, to me that is a bit of a weak opening
of course I do expect meeting that person later on, in fact it happening suggests that is a big thing in the storyline!
that in itself is a bit too predictable
* emilia goes missing, she would normally never miss her appointment
obviously he didn't think to go look there himself and save her from two very marginal monsters
this could have been written better
* after you save emilia you get a farm as a reward
isn't that a bit much?
farming is an integral part of this game's experience and you unlock it through a very minor act
tension could have been built up a bit more, or even better, the farm could truly have been earned through a number of quests and a more solid reputation with the townsfolk
maybe it could even be so that it's something you need to pay a handsome amount of gold for to unlock
I'll comment some more after I played some more
